Photo Submission

Sharing photos is fun! We’d love to have pictures of you taken about the time of your story, and photos relating to your story.  But to keep us both out of trouble, please read this brief info about copyright basics.

Simply, as agreed to in the Terms of Service, you are certifying by your submission that you have the rights to the photo(s).

For your convenience, incase you need it, a Model Release to print and use.


PICTURES YOU MAY SUBMIT WITHOUT A MODEL RELEASE IN YOUR POSSESSION:

  • Pictures of yourself: You are certifying that the recognizable face is you, and you have rights to the photo(s).
  • Recognizable faces of your family: You are certifying you have rights to the photo(s) because of an oral agreement with your family.
  • Recognizable faces in pictures that you, your family or someone under your control took at a public event, like a street fair, or a news event, such as a riot.  For the purpose of photo rights, an event that restricts and/or requires a paid admission is not a public event.

PICTURES YOU MAY SUBMIT WITH A SIGNED, VALID MODEL RELEASE IN YOUR POSSESSION:

  • Recognizable faces other than you or your family.  This includes, but not limited to:

Private events, such as the bleachers at a sporting event.
People in public, such as walking down the street or sitting in a park.

PICTURES YOU MAY SUBMIT ONLY WITH PERMISSION OR  STATEMENT FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHER OR COPYRIGHT HOLDER IN YOUR POSSESSION:

  • Just about any picture you can download from the web, scan from books, magazines, etc.

Any picture – we’re not just talking faces anymore.  Sunsets.  Buildings.  Dogs.  Pictures you,  your family or someone under your control didn’t photograph.  Doesn’t matter if there’s no copyright notice on or by it.

Read the terms of “Royalty Free,”  “Copyright Free,” etc. on all licenses.  Often they are not really free and/or have restrictions.

Permission from the copyright holder can be an email, or a statement on a downloaded web page, etc.

WHAT YOU ARE GRANTING US

You’re certifying you have the rights to the photo(s), and are granting BoomerFlashbacks.com irrevocable, non exclusive permission to display the picture on our website to accompany your story.
